Better Business, Better Life.
Helping you to get what you want out of life.
02 April 2021 | Issue 1
Welcome to my new weekly newsletter which, in line with our podcast series & the work I do, is all about helping you get what you want out of business & life.
Each week I will share 3 things. A tip or hack for your Business, a tip or hack for your Life & something interesting that I have found – could be a gadget, a great Netflix show, a TED talk or a podcast.
As a bonus I’ll finish up with one of my favourite quotations.
If you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters.
Do more of what you love and less of what you don’t!
Life is too short to be spending time doing things we don’t love but did you know it also has an effect on our business.
Spending time outside of your ‘zone of genius’ has many impacts on the business.
Ask yourself these three questions:
- Do you know where your time and energy truly goes while you are working?
- Do you focus your time, energy, and attention on the most valuable work that gets the best results for you and your business?
- Does your work bring you joy and motivation?
The answer to all of these questions should be a resounding ‘YES!’ But in reality, most people would be lucky to be able to say ‘YES’ to even one.
What if you could spend the majority of your time doing work you loved and are great at – and just a little of your time doing work that you didn’t like or weren’t that skilled in? What impact would that have on your days, your weeks, your months, or even your years?

This blog from EOS® explains how the tools works & gives you instructions on how to start freeing up your time to do the things you love.
The 5 Love Languages
As the saying goes, ‘Happy Wife, Happy Life’. One of my favourite tools for all of my clients is the 5 Love Languages. It’s a tool that helps you better understand the way your partners Love Tank gets filled up & vice versa. When your love tank is empty you tend to see your partner, and life, in a really negative light. When it’s full you see the positives, the joys & wonders & it creates a much better connection with your partner.
Having recently married for the 2nd time, Steve & I did this test very early on in our relationship & it has been invaluable.
The way that their own website describes it is…
You love each other, right? So why does it feel like you’re not on the same page? The most common issue in any relationship is the communication barrier. Everyone experiences love differently, and it’s easy to miss the mark when it comes to showing that you care.
With a little help from The 5 Love Languages®, you can learn to identify the root of your conflicts, give and receive love in more meaningful ways, and grow closer than ever. Your Love Language profile will explain your primary love language, what it means, and how you can use it to connect to others.
You can take the love language test here, and encourage your partner to do the same.
Find of the Week
Ok, so maybe I’m a little biased, but I do think that my new Podcast is a great addition to your podcast listening.
In ‘Better Business, Better Life’ I talk to established & successful business owners who are prepared to share their real journey to creating a better life through a better business.
They share the ups & downs, along with 3 tips that you can take and implement in your business immediately.
Each episode is usually 20 minutes & no more than 30 minutes long so that you can listen to it on your way into work or during your lunch break.
You can find the podcast on all main podcast sites (Apple, Spotify, etc.) as well as on Anchor FM.
The full transcripts & tips / tools that our guests share can be found on my website here.
What you may not know about me is that I am an absolute geek. A tech geek, a reading geek, a learning geek. I am also the Queen of online shopping for things that make life better, simpler or easier – I’ll call these my life hacks.
So in the next issues, each week I am going to share with you something that will help you with your business or personal life – my own version of a life hack.
