My chrome tabs look like my brain!

If you’re anything like me, my chrome tabs resemble my brain – always thinking about lots of things & keeping them open so that I can come back to them. This means it’s a bit of a mess & it slows my computer down due to memory 🙁

Unfortunately with age, my brains sometimes fails me & all my tabs close & I forget what I was thinking about or storing for later.

Same with Chrome – sometimes the computer crashes & all those tabs are gone! Well, not completely gone, you can go back into history & restore them but there’s a bigger issue – having all those tabs open actually uses up a huge amount of your computer power & slows everything down.

So when I came across one-tab.com, I was super excited!

You can open all the tabs that you want & then with one click of a button, it puts them all down as links on one chrome tab, massively reducing the amount of computer power required.

The tab lists can then also be named & you can add & delete from the lists.

So if you have a regular list of tabs that you like to have easy access to (say for daily work) then you can put them on one-tab & then easily access them each day.

Now, I know Google chrome does something similar but this is super easy to use & just works with my brain.

Best of all, it’s free!

Just go to one-tab.com & add the extension to your google chrome.

In the middle of the night…

Anyone else sometimes wake up at 2am, 3am or 4am bright & wide awake?

I thought it was just me but the more I talk to Entrepreneurs, the more I realise it might be an affliction for us all at some point.

Now if it’s a regular thing then you should be looking for different answers, such as is your liver struggling or do you have adrenal fatigue? There are some great articles out there that can help you with this, however for this segment I’m just talking about the occasional waking up.

For me, I have absolutely no problem getting to sleep but sometimes I wake up somewhere between 2am & 4am & my mind just won’t stop thinking about all the things that I have on the go. And it’s not worry, it’s mostly excitement or thinking of what needs to be done.

So I found this great app, Headspace, that I can play stories on to help me get back to sleep.

However, sleeping next to someone means I can’t just play it from my phone, so I purchased some cheap wireless headphones from Wish.com & I pop these on & listen to a story until I drop back to sleep.

More recently I’ve been waking up regularly & I have realised that even the app doesn’t work, so this seemed to indicate something more serious.

Turns out, with the stress of Dad being in hospital & not being able to go home to visit him, plus some busy times at work with lots of new clients, I was experiencing high cortisol throughout the day & consequently adrenal fatigue at night.

I’ve got some help now in the form of supplements & using Headspace to meditate throughout the day too, so it has a dual use.

So if it’s only occasionally that this happens, then get onto some headphones & the app. If it’s more regularly, seek some help & see what’s really going on 💖

When life gives you lemons…

Squeeze them onto your gin & tonic with the best citrus squeezer out there!

As an avid chef, who love to cook Asian food (& a drinker of gin & tonics!) I have gone through my fair share of citrus squeezers.

The most effective are actually the most simple but as I get a bit older (& perhaps a bit lazier), I want one that squeezes with the minimum amount of effort.

This Chef’n citrus squeezer is the best one out there because of its ratchet system.

Keep on rowing.

Kevin Biggar

I was very fortunate this week to watch Kevin speak again for one of my clients. If you don’t know who he is, you might recognise him from my adventures, winning the trans-Atlantic rowing race and being the first kiwi to trek unsupported to the South Pole

In his motivational talks, he helps people understand how to overcome big challenges by sing ramp goals rather than step goals. He reminds us that every step, no matter how small, is a step closer to the goal & overall, focus on what you can control, break things down into small chunks & reframe the context – if it’s tough for you it probably is for everyone else – who will give up first? 😁

If you haven’t ever heard of him or seen him in action, I thoroughly recommend checking him out –

Remember, you can download this quote as wallpaper or a screen lock image for your phone.
